We have our first possible frost tonight in the Midsouth and my bones agree with the weatherman on this one. Makes me just want to soak in a nice hot bath, full of beautiful and healing herbs. But alas, it’s time for Tea for Tuesday and that’s actually an amazing time! 🙂 However, my inspiration comes from the frosty bite coming for us and I wanted to find some good warm-the-bones recipes to share with you today. We’re coming to that time of the year where they will be necessary on the regular.
This one is fruit based – for those of us clinging to days of warmth and fruity goodness of the spring and summer.
- 1 can (46 ounces) pineapple juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons cloves
- 2 family size tea bags
- Pour juices in a large pot and heat to medium heat. Add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
- Bring mixture to a light simmer for 30 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and remove the tea bags and spices.
- Serve warm and garnish with fruit slices if desired.
You can use something like a tea ball or cheesecloth to help with fishing out the herbs before serving. And this recipe should take about 5 minutes to prep and about 30 minutes on the stovetop leaving you with 8 beautiful servings of this scrumptious heart warming beverage.
